EXT: 6th gen Civic lip on a CB7

I am not responsible for anything that goes wrong with this install... with that said lets began.

Tools/supplies:
-6th gen civic lip (CTR lip use)
-12mm socket
-extension
-socket wrench
-drill
-drill bits
-screw driver
-cut off wheel
-air compressor
-self tapping screws
-scrap metal/sheet metal
-sand paper
-nuts and bolts

First remove front bumper, Link to ucs DIY Here

Cut a line in the bumper the size of the flap on the lip (circled) using the cut off wheel or whatever you have to cut with.

Clean up the cut with some sand paper
Then cut small strips of metal to screw into. I used aluminum tubes that are use in radiators because I work for Modine who just so happens makes radiators. You can use anything really just as long as the screw has some thing to hold onto. Drill a hole into the metal just smaller then the screw so the screw grabs the metal instead of just sliding through.

this what the little strip is used for helps hole the lip on the bumper by spreading out the weight and also giving the screw something to grab onto

with the lip in the hole you cut earlier make sure it is first centered then I drilled 5 holes through the lip into the bumper. I started in the center and worked my way out. Make sure you place a screw in the area that is circled; this will help the lip hold its form later on.

next you will have to make some brackets to hole the end of the lip in place. I used some old side skirt brackets that i had just lying around. it is important that the brackets have some pretty good strength to them to hold the lip. I took a marker and marked the shape of the bracket on the back side of the lip so I knew where I would have to drill the my holes, then i drilled my holes and marked the bracket and drilled out the bracket. Then using nuts and bolts or whatever you wish to secure the lip to the bracket do so. To secure the bracket to the car I took a piece of aluminum and bolted it onto the bracket that was made for the lip. I then bolted the peice of aluminum to the car through the square hole in the bumper with a washer and nut and tightened it down.

Then reinstall you bumper with its new 6th gen Civic lip

Sorry of the picture I know some of them are a little blurry. If you guys have any questions just ask I wrote this up in a hury so just ask thanks.

Nice DIY .. and great idea with the lil metal strips for the screws to hold on to.

Did you use the 96-98 front lip or the 99-00 front lip?

Looks nice. If installing a factory style lip, will self tapping screws work if bumper removal is not feasible?

Was there any cutting needed on the lip...or was it a straight mock up.
