    Help! Headlights/Highbeams not working

    Hi guys!

Ever since I smashed up the driver's side headlight on my 91 EX-R Coupe, I haven't been able to get the Headlights or the Highbeams to come on. The headlight itself has been replaced now I just need to get it working!

    Some details:

    - I'm in Canada, so I have the OEM DRL's and they work fine. As they are the same bulb as the Highbeams (just they come on at a lower powerlevel) I've ruled out burnt out bulbs as the culprit.

    - I've tried replacing the "Lighting Relay" found in the Engine Bay Fuse Box with one from a scrapyard: Didn't change a frigging thing.

    - When I turn on the Headlights, everything goes dead (DRL lights turn off). Same thing happens when I try to flick on the Highbeams. This is normal behavior for the OEM DRLs as they should be replaced by the Headlights when they're switched on.

    - The In-Dash Highbeam indicator doesn't turn on.

    - All my turn signals and brake lights work.

    ::EDIT::
    - Also, all my interior lights turn on as usual when I try to turn on the Headlights

I'm really clueless when it comes to wiring stuff, so any help at all would be appreciated. Maybe you guys can help me track down what might be burnt out/broken. I work nights so I'd really like to get my headlights back as soon as possible!

    Thanks!

ps: Sorry if this is posted to the wrong sub-forum, go easy on me I'm a noob

fuses in the hood by the relay for the headlights? they are 2 seperate 20 amp fuses (yellow)...try those.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

if u use a fuse tester and getting no power to the fuses when the lights are on, test power at the switch.

Any advice on how I'd go about doing that? I'm guessing the switch is in my steering column... Any tips for getting at it? Like I said, I'm lost when it comes to all this wiring stuff. Hoping to learn by doing!

Thanks again, you guys are all so awesome when it comes to helping out

              Bump!

I'm spending this weekend trying to track down this problem (among others). I've tried searching this forum and elsewhere but can't seem to find a wiring diagram for the Headlight system.

Any one have any idea how the wires are distributed through the car? I'm not looking forward to tracing everything by hand :/
