    EXT: Alt. Bumper Light marker

This will be hard to with with pics because this was done over a decade ago, I did this DIY because I needed to change the bulb. but here we go.
THIS HAS BEEN ON MY 4DR FOR 10 YEARS AND IT HAS NOT MELTED AT ALL

    things you need:
    -Slices
    -Dual filament bulbs

    - A universal Harness Like this one *NOTE* Check the harness you get. This one that i took a picture of IS a little different then the one I'm using so check to make sure that the bulbs will fit in the harness correctly.

    -some wire

    1. Take out bumper markers
    2. Splice into the corner marker that always stays on.
    3. Take that wire down to the bumper wire in what ever fashion you desire.
    4. Put a bulb into the new Harness and take the wire from the corner makers and see what filament Lights up. I used the filament that is 'taller' to stay always on and the "shorter' on to blink.

    5. take the original wire went to your bumper lights and use that one for the 'shorter' filiment and splice it all and use the Little ground flap
    6. take the flaps on the harness and bend them in to fit the hosing hole of the bumper lights. and BOOM your done.

so easy I did it on my 4dr also

im wondering if its supposed to be like that, but why is the inner light blinking, isnt it supposed to be the outer light?

If your talking about the new dual filament bulb I dont think that it really matters. If you click on the video it will show you how it will look when its blinking. Its the same as our tail lights. (taller filament is always on as far as the tail lights, shorter filament lights with the breaks)

curious if having that 1 filament always on will melt the housing of aftermarket bumper lenses such as those from eBay?

its been like that on the my charcoal 4 dr for over 10 years and the clears bumper lights that are on the silver 2dr were on my Charcoal 4dr ....... so i doubt it. I did hear that some Teggy guys have that problem though.

not to thread jack, but i remember reading that the only problems with melting were when people would try to make the bumper lights into fogs.. with high powered lights in them. as opposed to this, its just making it a parking lamp..so heat shouldn't be an issue

                            Wait. I'm an idiot.

What effect are you trying to achieve? Is it the alternating blinkers effect between bumper blinker/corner blinker? Isn't it like that, stock?

haha I must be missing something.

haha, the bumper light is now "always on" as opposed to only blinking when signalling
