    "Toys" in the Mail...?

Ok, so ive been arguing with a guy at work about whether or not sex toys can be shipped through the mail. Like USPS, ground mail.

Dont ask how this got started, but he says that you can and that there'll be no problems or anything.

I dont doubt the legality(i think) but dont they scan or run some packages through metal detectors

I mean, i know there are toy companies out there that ship stuff to ppl all the time, but theyre businesses and they ship their stuff in black boxes/labels, so the mail ppl know what they are.

    This is person-person, civilian-civilian.

I say its legal but i dont think itll make it, or i think theyll find out and ask questions. He says, "Box it. Take it to the post office. Pay for it. They'll ship it. 'Joe Blow' will get it."

Anyone have any insight or knowledge on this kind of subject?

Try it. Send something to me. Just as long as it is not a big pink dildo.

          True.

I dunno. We were just talking about it and he says it shouldnt be any different than any other kind of package.

No, but seriously, you should not have problems. I have gotten condoms sent to me before.

its not illegal.....its very similar to shipping porn movies/dvds, playboy, etc. They ship them in brown boxes with nothing indicating whats inside. The sex toy industry is one the biggest in the world and a larger % of customer purchase their stuff online.

Actually it depends on the type. If someone holds a C&R (type 3) License, he can receive C&R items through the mail but there are only certain services that can be used ie next day delivery on handguns. I know cuz I bought a pair of shooter grade sks rifles and they were delivered directly to my door via the BBT. My Walther PP came via express mail. Antiques are not regulated and can be shipped to anyone. Anything outside of C&R and antiques must be delivered to a type 1 or 2 FFL

Also, anyone can ship a firearm but the recipient must be legally able to receive it.

                            C&R?? FFL??

The items we're discussing arent illegal to sell or buy anywhere, they just happen to only be sold at specialty shops. Hell, im pretty sure vibrators and stuff can be bought at Spencer's.

dude... its sex toys... not weapons... what made you think they are illegal to send in boxes? were you assuming that they confiscate all the dildos that show up on their xrays? most online places will "discretely label" the boxes as a courtesy but there is absolutely nothing illegal about it at all...
