6spd Legend Type II? yey or nay?

I was browsing CL like I ususally do for Accord/Prelude stuff when I came across this, a 6spd Legend w/ the type 2 engine. Don't these have like 230hp? I was considering looking at it. But the mileage on it scares me. But its a 6spd! damn that must've been a nice car in its prime.

How many of you guys would consider it?

93's had issues as with any First year production cars...

Best bet is a 94 or 95, if you can find one.

I am looking at 94/95s in automatic. Only thing bad about those cars is I hear they have head gasket problems. But to a degree they're not as bad to change as in a regular FWD V6 car. I drove an automatic base sedan in high school and it was cool. Not much punch down low but it opened up around 4K and had decent pull with 4 people on board. Nice powerband and interior. And with an exhaust it sounds like an NSX!!!! The exhaust note is unique to the Legend and NSX because they are the only 90 degree V6s in Honda's line up (the C-series). I def. want a coupe if I can find a decent one under 4K... would love a 6spd but the girl can't drive it. Do it!!!

Just make sure if you get one that you have documented proof that the cooling system, water pump, and timing belt have been changed. I have a 94 type 2 sedan and I love it. I got lucky with mine because the previous owner religiously followed the maintenance schedule and kept all the work orders. Just be patient and only buy one with a detailed history

As long as the head gaskets on it are good, that isn't shit for mileage on a Honda of that vintage. You will even notice that Honda's "crappy leather" has little to no wear on the driver's seat.

The head gaskets can be verified by a test drive. Since it is hot in Phoenix, take it for a good test drive. If it doesn't overheat or start to get hot, you should be fine. The headgaskets seem to be primarily an issue in cooling system that weren't as well maintained.

And they are relatively quick, although by today's standards, not fast.

                    Stupid question:

Does the type 2 simply mean it has the 3.2 V6? What's the difference between that and a regular Legend?

EDIT: Discovered the difference on my own. Type II had 230hp and the base 3.2 had 200hp.
