I'm going to be sick. I just added up all the receipts I have for the Evo. That's not including the $21.5 I spent on the car. Or the cost to register/insure. Or the money I spent to go get it.

If I had to sell it tomorrow. I'd probably only get $25k out of it. WTF was I thinking.:

I did a similar spreadsheet for this Accord... repairs, maintenance, mods I'm like 4K in which isn't too bad I guess. Everything that could be replaced has been. I thought about dumping more into it, but I did another spreadsheet and was just turned off by what I would have to spend.

Next car I get will be fast out of the box or will not need much to be perfect (E46 M3, old WRX STi sedan), and will hopefully not have much more depreciation to do. Modding cars is a losing game, financially

To your credit, Im sure it seemed like a good idea at the time.

I think almost EVERYONE here would be in the same boat if we added up the shit we bought for our cars vs. what they are ACTUALLY worth (resale).

Yea but u could have just kept the car stock saved up and bought a much better car. W/the money I spent on the Maxima and this Accord I could have easily had a WRX or M3, which are way more fun stock. If modding is a means of expression for u... cool... I just want the most bang for my $$ and modding is not the move in that context.

yeah. I'm feeling you. I've got just about 12K into my accord over the life of it and now I'm getting married and just think some times "what a waste". Now I'm so far in with bisi and everything I can't stop now until it's done.
