    agreed

the problem is not lack of supply, its the change over to the new mix. companies can't produce it fast enough. and Bush did not halt the process of making the new mixture, he temporarily stopped the supplying of our reserves to help ease the pump, more quantity essentially. unfortunately, this will only help for a few cents that we will see. oh well, im tired of hearing about the damn gas everyday everywhere. if people (and i am not pointing out anyone here so go easy) dont like it so what, don't drive. whats the other alternative?

Well never run out the reason why is because we are constantly stealing form the arabs and everyone else. Why do you think when we go over there they raid the shit and the arabs light up the refineries so that we cant steal it from them.

Wasn't the plot of Mad Max and the Road Warrior based around the world running out of oil?

Thunderdome was the lame duck of that series.

The star of the film wasn't present.

as someone that used to work in a gas station, i can tell you that those people in the station know absolutely nothing about the supply chain of gasoline and how it applies to their store.
sure, you might catch a bigwig gm in there one day, but he definitely wont be the one in there handing you your change or talking to you about the price of gas.

exactly...I have friends who work in gas stations and they measure everyday how much gas they have used...thus telling them how much they have left and that in turn tells them if they need to order more...basically unless they get a huge amount of cars comming in all at once they wont run out....well thats how it works here in Canada im gonna assume its along the same lines in the US.

Here's why some gas stations are out of gas: In order to prepare the underground storage tanks for the Ethanol-based gasoline, they have to have the previous non-Ethanol gas as low as possible (ie: out). As there is currently a switch-over to the E10 gas, stations are running out to be replenished by the new fuels. Since stations cannot be magically with a blink of an eye have their tanks filled, they have to wait until a truck gets there; this may take a day or so from the time that they notify their supplier that they are out to the time it takes to get a truck out to them due to the sudden hugh demand for E10.

                              Bottom line: relax.

There's plenty of fuel, just be patient as the switch takes place.

if ricky would search around, instead of posting re-posts of threads, then he would see that we are not running out of gas.

In short, that gas station attendent has no idea what hes talking about...although gas maybe short at his station, because his station can not always afford the higher gas price per gallon.

But as others have said the United States has more gas then you would ever know, so we won't be running into any fossil fuel problems in the near future. However, prices will be high.
