I'll Get It Straight From The People - Best Heavy Duty Jack

With so many websites uploading fake reviews, I don't even know what source to trust these days. I'm in the market for a heavy duty hydraulic jack to lift cars and/or trucks for my personal projects. If possible, I'm thinking about an aluminum jack with at least a 2.0 US ton capacity (more likely leaning toward 2.5 or 3.0). I want something durable that's going to last more than 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, etc. I'm looking to spend no more than $250 at the absolute max (honestly I don't even want to spend that much). Any advice?

    Thanks in advance.

I know a lot of people hate on Harbor Freight, but you just have to pay attention to what you get from there. That place is full of deals.

I have an older version of this and have had it for like 10 years or something. It has never once failed to do its job.

Based on a recommendation of another member here, I got this one:

I've had it a few years now and used it to get my Miata and Accord up pretty high. It’s always worked perfectly. No complaints!

my stands are old though. Might pick up some new ones. Might avoid HF there, since they had some failure issues recently.

Yea, they even issued a recall on the jack stands. That is a good jack too, a friend of mine has one and is also very happy with it.

So I use the same one as Size9zombie mentioned except the 1.5 ton and had it for years, at least 7 maybe 9, somewhere in there. I love it, super light, and never had an issue with it. I do use a 2x4 or other pieces of wood to be able to prop the car up higher if I need to, as the height can be a bit restrictive, but its a low profile jack, so I didn't expect it to go super high. I have used it to jack up corners on my 2014 tundra with no issues as well.

I'm happy with the jack and if it ever goes out on me, Ill just upgrade to the 2 ton jack. I could never justify paying a copious amounts of money on something that only raises and lowers.

Yeah, I've been reading about those jacks from HF. Most of the reviews have been solid, and like <10% have been really bad; that's great odds. In my travels through the wonderful world of hydraulic jacks research, I came across this (a lil' pricey, but ohhh how sexy):
