Got some parts today.



After a little chrome polish.



I have been looking for some good condition bumpers for years! These showed up on C-list today. Minimal dents, no thru rust. They will need a rechrome at some point tho. And according to the plate on the front bumper, they haven't been on a car since '92.

i used to have a 2 door malibu simular to these, the head lights were differnt though. i was my first car. if only i knew better, i wouldnt of gotten rid of it

The project is kinda at a standstill right now, and its making me pretty sad. I'm gonna try to put it together and at least primer it this fall.

Gonna get this project rolling again this spring. I picked up a special piece for it this past weekend that'll getting me motivated to put this back together.



305 TPI from an 86 Camaro. All harnesses and most of the sensors needed included. The guy also has the V8 5 speed trans that goes with it, that'll be dropped off soon. I got a hell of a deal on this setup, and am pretty pumped about dropping it in the wagon.

There is just some finish bodywork to be done, then I will pull the V6 and TH350 out, rebuild the front suspension, clean the frame and firewall up and paint it all, then install the 305 and 5 speed. I will rework the harness so that its mostly hidden, and it should plug right into the Malibu's dash harness, i'll just have to run wiring for the fuel pump. Then I'll go to the back, remove the original rear axle and fuel tank, clean everything up back there. I'll install an El Camino fuel injection sender/pump assembly in my tank, and run new fuel lines to the front of the car. Then box the control arms, install new bushings and install my Monte SS 3.73 rear end. Thats a basic summary of the overhaul that is going to happen as soon as my tax return comes in.

Got the engine torn down mostly, gonna pull the heads as it seems it has a rusty sleeve.

I used to have one of those wagons too! I love LOVE LOVE those cars.... Did yours come with the OLDS motor? Mine had a olds motor in it.... from the factory. I wish I would not have gotten rid of that one. The lock up torque converter was going out and a plethora of other stuff. I got tired of messing with it and got rid of it. I had a mkiii turbo supra then and 2 DA integras as well as a 90 ef hatch. I wish looking back I would have fixed it and kept it.

Bobby - Looking good, I love those S10 rims on a Malibu. Considered those for a while. Hows she running now?

da9b16 - My car came with a Chevy 229 V6, basically a 3/4 305. So the accessory drive will fit a small block.

Can't wait to see the progress on the engine swap/clean-up! Makes me want to go work on my truck!
