I am looking for a Chevette T5 trans, as I can put the shorter tailshaft on the V8 camaro trans and the shifter is just about in the right spot as OEM. see figure 1.
Fig. 1 - V8 Chevette T5 installed in 1983 Malibu
The larger rounded off hole is for the original four speed shifter.
Fig. 2 - Mostly together
I plan to use a cut down oem S10 shifter, since its like a factory short throw. Or this sweet baby.
fired her up yesterday, all i had to do was charge the battery and fresh gas !
can't wait to have her back on the road
Same here man I'm itching, plus when I get her back on the road it'll be like a new car! The only thing that won't be new or rebuilt is the trans and the power steering box, haha
did the poly in my Bu and it handled like a slot car for 6 months then it handled like shit because the poly bushings wore out. I had the PST kit but went back to stock rubber. She handles nice now

Really? Well if that happens they'll be getting an angry call from me, their stuff is supposed to be the best!
Found a mint dashboard in the yard today. Crazy lucky find, I had no tools, just checking out whats new and I found it just sitting in the back of an El Camino already to go!! No cracks, vinyl still soft, just faded.
Best part, the guy only wanted $20 because I'm a frequent customer! These things go for $150 and up in non-cracked condition
