        Plug after 1000 miles....

we burned a lot of oil..... 1 qt every 100 miles... we went through 35 quarts of 20w50.

oh, and we got 20mpg, FTW.

time to swap it with a fuel injected 350

It's so wild seeing high res photos of a C10 chasing a Bus...I love it tho.

LOL, the Bus could out corner us (we were getting tire squeal in the corners ), but we'd catch them on every single goddam hill.

Hah, we're keeping the suburban seats... They are rather comfortable... But I can hook you up with the old bench seat! The springs are all good, and with the seat cover on it's not a bad seat! (It's at my parents house in MA.)

we're going with the TBI 350. We already have it! Well, it's sitting in a parts truck up the street... We got it for cheap from the guy I used to work for...win!

(The truck is currently at my parents house, in MA)

TBI 350 is good, fuel mileage isn't much better but startup and drivability is much improved over carburetor.

I will take that seat! Nice saddle blanket cover on it and I'll be happy

yeah, startup was an issue for us. We never got the auto-choke set up right so I had to keep my foot on the gas until the engine got to about 150.... and boy would it smoke on startup!!!

I doubt with the 350 we'll be seeing the 20mpg we're getting out of the 307

                        Eric, you have a PM.

Depends actually, how old is the 350? My grandmas 94 silv
erado has a 350 tbi and gets about 23 on highway. Only thing that's been done is a more freely flowing air box and dual exhaust. But then again, the rear end gearing will play a factor.

My firebird formula 350 got 19 in city and 25 highway, unless of course you drove it like you stole it. But it was also a tuned port inection LT1.

Sounds like its a fun project none the less. Too bad its at your parents. I'd help turn a wrench here and there.

it's a 91 I believe, and it has been rebuilt (dunno how long ago).

The truck has a 3.73 rear end, but we do have overdrive. and we will have true dual exhaust.

Fuel economy isn't really a big concern

Found something today that you might be interested in.

Tach/vac cluster out of a mid 70's C65, it was a gas 366 V8 so the tach is correct for a V8. Also has the mechanical oil pressure gauge and AMP gauge, so it should fit right into your 73.
