Buddy has a crx, 5spd. The tranny is very stiff, hard to move the stick. It goes into gears fine, no grinds. what could cause this?

sounds like it needs lubed up with white lithium grease, the shifter ball and rods.
did he do any work lately? The bolts under the car that connect the rods to the shifter might be too tight if so..other than that adjustment of the clutch cable might help/service interval while lubing the other stuff. good luck
