h22 swap for the h2b my options?

Okay folks here's the situation now I'm in the market for a h22. Since I already have the jdm b16a sirII transmission on the way I should be straight for now. Now here's the situation looking to get more info for the kit adapter plate to get it going.

Now there's the plm, and qsd kit with not that much information going on about these but bashing each other. I like to see and hear the facts and the reliability about these kits. As for motor availability I like the h22's but im not in the market for a euro r its not my thing I either want the sir s spec h22 rated at 220hp or the h23 vtec but hear that since the h23 was an auto its power drops rather quickly? is this true but the motors nice and cheap so I know there's gotta be a catch. Is there?

I'd just stick to the basic OBD1 H22A, honestly. All parts for it can be found easily in the US, unlike the H23A, which has some specific parts that are exclusive to the Japanese market. For the price difference between the basic H22A and the Sir S Spec (which is usually sold as a "type s", as they're essentially the same, aside from the fact that one was paired with the ATTS trans and the other with a normal LSD trans...) you could simply modify the base H22A... resulting in probably more power, and a refreshed engine at the same time.

I haven't looked into the H2B kits in a long time, but aren't they mainly just transmission and shifter adapters, to allow you to mount the B trans to the H engine, and maintain the proper shift rod mounting locations? If so, any of the more reputable brands out there will probably do the job just fine. Reliability issues are probably due more to installer error than poor quality parts.

Well there are plateless kits didnt do much research on it. Then there's the evo kit which doesn't provide clearance so it looks like a cowl hood...not my thing. Then there's the qsd kit and the plm kit which is a copy I believe. Along with series mounts which are extra. Then I got get the shift linkage,ls axles h-series, motor fluids.

Certain parts (not sure exactly which... it's been a while) are different part numbers. You could probably use H22A parts for much of it, but they won't be the same.

I know the crank ain't the same but I never thought these motors would dip that low as far as price I cant resist.

They've always been pretty cheap. The cost is usually made up in other ways. The base H22A is really the best way to go. If something breaks, you head on down to Autozone or your nearest Honda dealer and pick up whatever you need!
