me vs new mazda

    me vs new mazda

    My friend just got a new car and transferred to my school, so we hung out over the weekend, and hes got this nice little red mazda speed turbod AWD 2.3L. This is the same guy who used to own the tiburon. Well he said the car was tons faster then the tibby so we went on the highway. 60mph roll, starting in 3rd gear(he had a 6spd so i dunno where he was), 3 honks we go, dead even through most of 3rd gear, around 4500-5000rpms i pull up a little bit, slam into 4th, and he starts slowly pulling away. Damn tranny gearing. He only won cause of his 6speed. gimme a h23 tranny and it would have been tied lol.

    Anyways, his BOV is quite loud, and its recirculated. So i gotta figure out if his car is MAP or MAF and i wanna make it atmospheric and see how loud it actually is. And me and him are racing again when I get my new turbo

    Nice. H23 would be nice but your top end would suck ass. I have witnessed it in my car lol.

      I don't know how fast your car is but his speed6 should be running low 14's. I haven't driven one but supposedly they have very little lag due to the DI.

      His car has a MAF setup....don't vent the BOV unless you want to screw up the mixture.

        Maybe it was due to the course/my inexperience with the car, but when I Auto-X'd the Speed6 I felt it was peaky/laggy.

          I'd guess you weren't used to the engine/gearing so you may have been in the wrong gear. It definitely took some adjusting for me when I got my Suby. A totally different powerband vs. the H22.

                yeah, well, my 14b likes to creep up to 10psi. But yeah. we going at it again when I switch turbos.

                he also is a very bad driver with this car right now. He just got it so he's still learning how to drive it. He said the awd and sharp clutch engagement makes it a pain. But on the highway it doesn't matter

                  t3/04e FTW...MRX has a decently strong basemap for that setup. the f22b with t3/04e.

                    I got bjaccords h23 map with the t3/t04e 57 trim. I'll just knock timing back 3% and add fuel 5% throughout the whole map and tune accordingly. But yes, mazda will stand no chance when I get it. I have about 60% of the parts I need for the new setup, so close yet so far..lol

                              no. monthly payments is all he can afford right now on that.

                              250whp is right around my goal, on a stock block.
