If you get it from honda they could set the tumblers so it matches your key... at least I hope they would do that.


I needed a new one of these as well. I have two keys for my car. lol... kinda reminds me of the oldschool domestic vehicles that had a door key and ignition key.

Thats true well my 65 Ford Fairlane had a separate key for the trunk.

ignition switch is attached to the ignition cylinder which is where the key goes into and not the ignition switch itself. Ignition cylinder is pretty costly at $180, so I'd hate to break that. My keys still match and it was a painless installation.

Interesting tid bit is that thieves just break the column and turn the ignition switch for most older hondas to get it started. Lots of stolen hondas are found with the ignition switch just dangling because all it takes I suppose is a turn on the switch.

Yeah, that is why old hondas are so easily to steal. Once the key cylinder is off all you need is a screw driver to crank the car.

Toyota must be the same cause I had a '88 Camry that you could turn the ignition with anything and it would start. I always kept a club on it and it never got stolen in the 5 years I owned it, it was ugly too. But a month after giving the car to my dad he parked it somewhere shady so he could catch a bus to the casino and some theif stole it by cutting the steering wheel to remove the club. Cops found it the next day, so my dad was lucky. He just got another steering wheel from the junk yard.

its just temporary cuz when i was installing the harness i didnt ground them up right so i blew the one's that was on the fogs....my friend sold me the ones he had on his high beams on his silvia front...and it was for fogs.... im wondering if i can put those ebay strobes on my fogs...
