I'm still around. My Accord will never go away, regardless of how busy I am. I always seem to find something that excites me about it again.
My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

Yeah, North of it in Denton. I'll probably be here until August, then head to the next project after that. Hopefully that's back in Houston.

Seems like the South region has been dead for some time now and that is the reason for me starting this thread.

Yeah it seems most of us move or have moved away at some point but some of us made our way back.

I'm planning on moving to Texas within the year hopefully. Just need to find a job and sell my current house. Construction I see on the other hand doesn't pay nearly as well down here though.

What type of construction do you do? While the lack of unions here keeps hourly wages lower, there are more hours in every day to be worked, and more days out of the year that the weather is compatible with working.

Find who is working on 290 in Houston, god knows the way they work here it takes them decades to do(610 surprised me). It took them from 10 years to fix the underpass at I-10 and beltway. Also you must take into consideration that the cost of living is lower down here than other parts of the states, also Houston takes driving to get anywhere; the city is really spread out and if you are not lucky to work close to home you end up driving long distances thru the aforementioned decades of construction to get to and from work(i uses to drive from pearland to spring which was 57 miles each way).

Right now road construction. I use the walk behind saws for the majority of the time, and also do a lot of hydroseeding. I have a cdl but not to fond of driving into pits. Also from what I was looking up my pay would be damn near half of what I get now.

Back at home it is hectic to get the jobs done, constantly being pushed along. But I am used to driving long distances, drove 55 miles just to get to my work truck and than would drive around the cities the whole day jumping job to job. It is pretty nice right now because I only drive about 25miles now.

Houston is growing at alarming rate so anything construction will be in abundance, they are widening the freeways and creating the new loop(99) outside the beltway; it already stretches from Sugarland to kingwood(maybe even more). As far as construction, transportation and werehousing jobs go; there are always jobs if you know where to look.

I know finding a job wouldn't be hard, finding a job that pays decent to kinda what I make now is the problem I am having. My girlfriend will still make just as much as she does now but I will be going from just about $30 to a mere $14-18
