ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I did find something interesting, see photo 6. On the board, there seems to be an auxiliary white connector that leads back to the control panel. It is only covered by a peice of black tap on the outer cover. I have no idea what that thing does, but I am curious.
While inspecting my recently purchased DCC (out of an Ascot iirc), i somewhat reverse engineered the workings of this unit.
First, this switch behind the manual-button-section has 3 positions, while the middle one is the stock one. it changes the resting position for the air mix motor, probably to accomodate different part vendors or vehicles. i though it traced back to the myserious connector but that wasn't correct.
nevertheless, the mysterious connector is connected directly to the CPU of the unit. i probed around a bit and hooked up an oscilloscope. it first looked like some sort of serial input/output port - and it is. there are Ground, DataIn, DataOut and DataClock Pins (G, DI, DC, DO) and therefore it most probably is a SPI bus. changing settings will change the DataOutput and the Interface is "pulsed" every 250ms. moving the switch seems to have no relevant outcome, it does however change the signal levels while the air mix motor moves. maybe the connector was used to program or test the unit while manufacturing, maybe it can be used to read "fault codes" if a diagnostic module is connected, maybe there was an additional vehicle heater available, maybe it could hook up to an air cleaner module - who knows. i may get myself a cheap chinese logic analyzer and try to interpret the SPI Bus going forward, but for now i'm focused on getting this thing put into my accord cb3.
The Connector on the Rear of The Unit and the pigtails are from the TE AMP Series. Those were made for automative ECU-use and therefore are present on OBD0 Honda ECU's - so a pigtail from an old Honda with an OBD0-ECU will do the trick!
for everyone that hasn't a pick&pull yard available or is from a country where those cars are rare to begin with, i researched and found the part numbers for the connector:
TE Connectivity (AMP) 172047-2, 20pin
TE Connectivity (AMP) 172021-2, 16pin
TE Connectivity (AMP) 170291-1, Crimpable Female Pin
Those Plugs are "DLI" which basically means "Double Lock Insert". the inserts seem to be dicontinued, but they arent strictly necessary. its just a second interlock for the pins for automotive use. if you get an ECU Pigtail, they should be present though. As of now (02/2025) the plug housings and pins are available on Mouser or Digikey.
