ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

The Light up needle experiment. Not for beginer

I'm getting a head start. at least some thing I can do indoor for now.
    (the beginning)

here is a cluster I got from junkyard, don't know how long this project gonna take and wouldn't hurt break junkyard one rather than my own. for now anyway
hopefully when its all said and done, the cluster work like it should, many report
that cluster tense to not work after needle is pulled. could be isolated case. who knows. but I lets explore the possibility.

wonder what it look like inside?

Camry needle I think. again from the junkyard

I can change to any color if I want to. for now it will work for testing

    LETS LIGHT THEM UP!!!!

HOW TO will come later, ( Experiment) key word.
once I got it all figure out the easy way, then other people don't
have to wast couple of cluster before they get it right, heck. I don't
even know how its gonna turn out. but with what I know what
              can be done.

              list goes on.
RPM needle can change color when it hit certain point or close to redline.
RPM needle can have heart beat (light fade in fadeout at idle)
same goes with speed needle. I may keep it white from 0-70. and diff color over 70. etc.

that just few idea I have right now.

oem us same light source to light up needle as gauge light,
so no. light does not come with needle when you swap it from diff car.
just clear plastic that glow when there is light hit it from the base.(some one ask)

So you couldnt just swap in a lighted needle and wire it to the cluster lights and have it work all the time?

This is so cool. It would be cool to have the needle on your tach 1 color, have it change when VTEC hits, then another color when you need to shift, like a shift light. Can't wait to see this when it's done.

so basically if you pick up a needle that can be lit up, install it and rig an LED behind the base?
