Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I'm assuming you wasted none of your time bothering to search but depending on what lip you got determines how well it will fit. The '91-'93 sedan lip is the one most people get and is shorter on both sides and looks like crap. But the desire to be apart of the Legend lip crowd is so great that it doesn't phase them. All others will fit and have varying looks. There is a sticky that details all of this that I trust you should be able to find easily. My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. Any lip can be made to fit..just depends on how much you have to mod it.

I was at the 'yard today and there was a legend there (not sure of year) but it was the only one that still had the bumper on it, and there was a lip attached to it.. I took one bolt off, and then took a step back and asked myself "is this the one they are talking about?" I was really unsure, so left it there..
It wasn't black like i have seen on this site, but painted to match the bumper.. should i go back and get it?

If you are unsure of how it would look or fit, take it off and test fit it off a cb7 at the junkyard.Originally posted by topsey_kretts View PostI was at the 'yard today and there was a legend there (not sure of year) but it was the only one that still had the bumper on it, and there was a lip attached to it.. If it was OEM paint then there's a good chance it was a '94-'95 Type II coupe. That's the hardest one to come by. They're also the most difficult ones to mount up because they have such little material to screw into.
Edit*
Your picture wasn't posted when I was posting. That's the '91-'93 lip and from my small phone screen looks like a coupe lip because it fits the bumper. However, if it's from a sedan then it will come up short on the sides of the bumper. My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

This is the thread that i am reading..
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=5360&
And about half way down is the pic that i posted.. and above that is says that it is a 94-95 sedan lip..
I am so confused on what fits properly (no short sides)

I honestly like the sedan better than the coupe lip. I kinda like the step off on the sedan. And dont like how the coupe scoops up on the middle part. I know the sedan has notches there that fit into the grille but I filled mine up.

How are you confused? The '91-'93 Legend sedan lips come up short on the sides of the bumper. Bam! Confusion gone. The '91-'93 coupe lip has a similar look to the sedan lip only it fits the bumper. The '94-'95 sedan lip fits the bumper well also. The '94-'95 coupe lip actually is a little too long and will need to be trimmed a tad. However, most consider it to be the most aggressive looking. I have a '94-'95 sedan lip and 2 '94-'95 coupe lips that I've got at different times and I've just been too lazy to care about doing anything with them.My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint.
