ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Remote turn on wire for amp

Hey guys Im installing an amp in my car and running 9-wire to the back of the stock radio harness. My question is which wire do I use as a remote turn on for the amp? Do I connect the remote turn on directly to the factory wiring or should I splice it with the aftermarket wiring harness? Silly thing is I had it all up and running but I took everything apart to solder the connections and now I dont remember how I got my amp to turn on in the first place. Cheers fellas.

I soldered everything together and used heat shrink tubing could the heat from the heat gun have damaged something? Far as I remember I connected the two twelve volts the ground and the blue wire from the 9-wire to the aftermarket harness and the speaker wires to the rest of the 8 wires from the 9 wire cable. could be wrong however.

Hey. You're right it's usually the blue wire, but there's probably other blue wires. All I can say is there's a wire in the harness (prob blue, look up the manual / instructions) and it is the Remote wire. Connect it to the remote wire coming from the amp.
If you got the usual .....stereo adapter harness which looks like this: https://www.amazon.com/Harness-Insta.../dp/B018YJOQ7Q

Then I believe it's the bright blue wire. & no, heat gun can't do anything to the wires, but can melt the outside sheathing and cause the wires to touch. If that were to happen you'd be blowing the fuse all the time and see weird things happening like fires :P
