ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I'd recommend the JDM F20A DOHC swap...but of course, I am a little biased.

              F22A.

Why does everyone assume JDM engines are better? If they have low mileage, it's because the engine has been sitting in a junkyard for the past 10 years. At this point, I'd rather have an engine with 150k on it that was driven regularly, than an engine with "35k" from Japan. If you can get them cheap, they are GUARANTEED to boneyard crap. When it comes to engines, when you buy cheap, sight unseen... you get what you pay for.

The F22A offers as much or more potential than any of the engines listed (aside from the F20C, which obviously isn't actually an option.) The F22B DOHC is a good option in stock form, but the F22A can be brought up to F22B DOHC power levels VERY easily.

The F23A1 is a bit of a turd anyway. Not as bad as the F22B1, but still pretty wack.

the place im talking about has alot of good rep.. every motor/tranny comes with 1 year warranty.. my uncle once bought a f20z from there, it ran soooo good, no vibration... that motor was perfect

he got it for 400 with alternator, ps, nd dizzy

I'm not saying they're all crap... but an engine that's been sitting unused since 1999 might not be the best thing. The "low mileage JDM engine" is losing its draw.

Anyone know if the F22B1 will drop right in, with the addition of the ECU and wires for VTEC?

I have a 93 4 speed LX wagon that I will be converting to 5 speed soon and want a bit more power than the stock F22. Might add a Turbo in the future ether way, but it would be nice to start off with a bit more HP and VTEC.

Sorry for the noob question but I've gone from knowing my 95 civic ex like the back of my hand to researching what works in a CB7.

                    Thanks in advance!

Put a cam in the F22 you have in the car now, you'll gain 15 hp or so depending on which one you get. Alot cheaper and easier than that swap. $93 for a Delta 272 regrind.

IMO go back the the F22A SOHC or get an H22A (in lieu of the F20B as it is a "Baby H22")

There is lots of cheap options out there you just gotta know where too look

lol @ Mike (I'd love to see that done too lol)
