New Server Migration

Hello everyone, Pandemic here. I wanted to let everyone know that we're working on migrating to a new server which will allow for more update flexibility including SSL certifications. The old box is really old and it's been time to find a new one for a while.

Data was migrated to a the new box a few weeks ago. We're working on testing the page to ensure it actually works before we go live. If anyone has any web development or coding experience and wants to help, DM me.

Thanks!

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

for you lowered cb7's, how do you change your oil?

yea so im lowered about 2in. and im going to put my legend lip on soon. I realized it's going to be slightly harder to change my oil. I use the mini ramps to raise my car and change my oil. But i also scrape my cd5 lip while trying to go up it. I guess I have to jack up my car the old fashion way just to change my oil and to avoid any scrapage on the legend lip.
How about you guys? How low are your cb7's and how do you go about raising your car to change your oil?

Now that I work at a dealership, I just get my oil changes done at work. With the employee discount, it costs me the same as if I did it myself, and I have no mess to clean up or old oil to dispose of.

My car is low, so we need to use blocks to get it up onto the lift without scraping.

Otherwise, a regular floor jack still fits under my car because I'm not stupid slammed.

What my BF does for his (loww) teg is drive up onto some 2x4s to be able to get the jack under it.
I have always used a jack/stands from the front jack point (Front tow hook). (It is also a good draining angle, but your oil dipstick won't read right until you've taken it down.)

Please don't ever trust your jack alone. There is no room for error when you're lows.

I grab the car by the fender and lift it high enough to slide a jack under the jack support.

I have a 2.5" drop and legend lip. I changed my oil today and I drove the car up a pair of 2x4's and used my craftsman low profile jack. Works great...

                ^^This

Then I put jack stands up.

I also agree to NEVER use a jack alone! Jack stands are your friend!

                      I am not lowered but...

I made my own ramps out of 2x6s. The tall end is three high (6"), middle is two high (4"), while the low end is just one high (2") (i am using actual 2x6s, not the ones that are 1.5" thick..)

                      -2 cents.

Been pretty well! And yes, we took "the beast" down the tail of the dragon in june last summer. There are more pics of the truck in its MRT. (link in the sig).

Pics from the rally are on my FB.
