ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Stimulus checks and simple attrition of the supply. When we joined the newest OBDI H22 was 10 years old and the market was saturated with good quality motors. 15 years later the supply is simply drying up. There aren't that many cars left in Japan that still have the motors.

It's a shame, but it makes sense. Maybe Honda will eventually join the ranks of Mazda / Nissan / Toyota and start remanufacturing parts, but I cannot see the H22 being that popular compared to some of the B-series engines.

I'm sure it is, but I'm so far out of the loop...last I recall a K wouldn't fit under a stock hood, but I'm sure that's all been solved. I haven't been in a 90s Honda since probably 2009, haven't owned one since 2007, so the K-swap was in its infancy when I actually really was up on things.

H22s have been getting harder to find for quite a while. OBD1 H22s are nearly impossible to find anymore!

I think the pandemic gummed up the works for many importers, sadly.
K is definitely the future. So much potential. But I think the K series looks awful in the CB engine bay, and the more efficient powerband lacks the exciting vtec crossover kick the H22 provides!
If I ever get another CB, and I do toy with the thought, I’d probably want to go back to an H22 if I could find one. I’d begrudgingly get a K (or build the F22 for turbo).

Noticed this as well. The K is just too tall for our cars. Raised lifters / rods in the head which push the oil pan lower. Forces one to raise the cb7 back to "monster truck" OEM status. Not sure how civics make this work, more angle maybe? I use to want one because it had a 6 speed, but then I realized it was just shorter gears (same rpm on the highway). I'll always stick with a H22 for the cb7 as it makes close to the same power as the K. Too bad parts are impossible to find now.

definitely more angle. they have 30 degree engine swap mounts and pans to match just for clearance!

as far as Hs go, they are still out there! my buddy has a PDE headed H23A right now in Nor*Cal up for grabs, I saw an OBD1 H22A up for grabs in the PNW, and a couple more in So-Cal too. it sucks, but facebook really is the best place to find one one. quality is still to be determined, but for a quick find? yeah...

This is why I’m hanging onto mine. If I ever get my hands on an old EG or ek. The h will be going into that.

I didn't notice this until someone recently told me on IG that HMO was out of stock. They still show up in junkyards for me every now and then; I might have to grab one just to have a spare. Although if something catastrophic did ever happen to mine, I think I'd just turbo an F. Definitely not interested in a K-swapped CB.

It's too bad there isn' t a tilting mount kit or raised mounts for K's and our cars.

Agreed. I would love a AWD turbo k series.
