ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    IM Spacers

I've read/seen that a lot of people have spacers between the two sections of the IM. Curious as to what the point of it is? Searched arounda bit and didn't come across anything helpful.
    Thanks.

      Thanks.
So it just lengthens the runner, gives an extra couple HP?

^I think you may be alittle mixed up, by adding length to an IM for example, you will gain low end and sacrifice alittle high end power. Think of the gains from ITB's compared to a long flowing IM setup, 4-1 to 4-2-1 header, or even open header compared to a full exhaust. Another example would be comparing the stock H22 IM to the Euro R manifold, Euro R is more mid-high.

He was using them as an example. The engine doesn't really matter either way.

^It's all good, it's a very common misconception but there are so many factors involved w/ shifting the powerband around. I was using those things as simple comparative examples of how a motor would respond w/ diff. IM or exhaust mods.

Getting back to the whole IM thing on the F22, technically the A6 runners would give slightly better high end over the 1/2" longer H23 runners, but I doubt you would see a diff. Obviously, the H series plenum's volume is the big factor. If you let's say deleted the IAB plate completely (plenum sits directly on the runners), then that would yield more high end gains, and sacrificing alittle low end.

he is correct, and his last example right their is exzactly what i just did to my manifold,
i know what high rpm's i stay in once up and racing, so i decided that i needed shorter runners to keep my peak hp in my high rpm powerband.

adjusting the distributer, the cam gears and the header all play a factor as well, heck everything does, but those are the most common used power curve tools.
