ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

Swapped H23 IM, question regarding FITV

This afternoon I began swapping my H23 IM into my mosly stock '93 LX. All is going smoothly. One problem I've encountered is that my stock FITV will not fit onto the H23 throttle body. I'm willing to get the proper fitting FITV, but what is it's purpose? Can I block off the holes of the TB and bypass the coolant and still be operational? I need my car to be running.

FITV basically creates a controlled vacuum leak to create a fast idle when cold to warm the motor up faster instead of having it idle cold @ a much lower RPM. It's the most important idle valve there is IMO. You could technically make a block plate for the t/b and either cap or loop the coolant lines for it. It's just come winter, having a fast idle is a good thing. The only valve I'm running on my IM is the FITV, the IACV is blocked and the air boost valve is gone.

thanks for the reply. Seeing as it's warm outside, the engine isn't as cold as it is in January. Given it's purpose, I think I feel safe bypassing it. I'll be searching for a proper fitting one though, but I need this car running in the mean time.

Come to think of it, there's an auto salvage place in Epping that might help me out

True, for now, you'll be fine w/o it, and also just remembered this, I believe the IACV will sort of jump in and act as a FITV when it senses that coolant is cold. Not sure how much, but that's what I've read on here. Plus of course, you can raise your base idle which I'd recommend anyways, gives better throttle response if it idles @ 900 for example.

For the H series t/b, you can also use the FITV from a B18B1, 94-01 Integra RS/LS motor, that will widen your options by alot. Plus of course H22 and H23 are the same FITV.

Excellent, that certainly widens my options. Thanks.
