New Server Migration

Hello everyone, Pandemic here. I wanted to let everyone know that we're working on migrating to a new server which will allow for more update flexibility including SSL certifications. The old box is really old and it's been time to find a new one for a while.

Data was migrated to a the new box a few weeks ago. We're working on testing the page to ensure it actually works before we go live. If anyone has any web development or coding experience and wants to help, DM me.

Thanks!

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

have you done a basic tune-up?? Replace spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor, fuel filter, clean throttle body??

Your other thread said your wheel was loose. That will kill your mileage among other things. Including tires. Have your tires rotated when they fix your shock. Should be free.

The next thing is to check your tires. Put in 35 psi. Air can be had for free .

After that, yeah, what OldMan said, esp clean/replace spark plugs and adjust timing, and also the air filter.

The self-reported statistics I've seen on websites show many people get low mileage, but I consistently do 26+ mpg (450 mi/tank) and I'm living on a mountainside.

Maybe look into replacing the 02 sensor if it's the original one on the car. Even though it may not be throwing any codes, I'll be you it's not as accurate as it once was.

Do a full tune up; plugs, wires, cap, rotor, EGR cleaning, throttle body cleaning, air/fuel filter, tire pressure and see what happens.

If there is no change, look into the o2 sensor

Well… I can understand why you tuner guys put up with low mileage. But for all stock I wouldn't tolerate any less than I'm getting. And my auto tranny doesn't really help things.

250 mi on a tank is 15 mpg. There is something very wrong with that.

How is it even possible to be that consistently aggressive? Don't you just get stuck going as fast as the guy in front of you? I'm not really a granny either, and like I said I'm on a mountainside so half my miles are in second gear. Really what impresses me about my car is that mileage doesn't depend much on my driving style, I can punch it at stoplights "for free."

But I do tease it into high gear whenever possible, which uphill on the mountain is a game of gathering momentum and staying at 30… without flying off…

And I thought I had it rough... I was gettin' barely that in my mini-van before it croaked (I killed the tranny). Hence the whole upgrade to the CB. If I do HWY driving only, and drive like a granny (no RPM's above 3K) I can get >650MPG.

Did 350 or so, at about half tank, after filling it. Now, that seriously drops after I start doing heavy driving... but, I still get 400, easily.

I'm a noob when it comes to technical bits.... but it seems like doing the basic tuneup would do the trick. All filters, plugs, wires, cap... etc...

                          Good luck!

Well there is not heavy traffic here, and people move when they see me coming!
