ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Series of clutch confusions

alright so about 3 days ago i noticed a burning clutch smell at all speeds after i started driving for like 5 mins. upon inspection i had absolutely no clutch fluid left, it leaked out some how. after refilling and bleeding the air out it worked fine and had no smell. now tho when i get to speeds above 55mph it smells horrid, even driving like a grandma, i even snapped the clutch out when shifting to second at 20 mph and it squealed the tires so its not like it isnt grabbing good. this morning i looked at the slave cylinder and it appeared it has a slow slow leak, can all these problems be associated to the slave cylinder? it is a 92-96 jdm h22a with a 91 f22 tranny.

it might be leaking inside the car, look inside at the clutch pedal and the firewall to see if your Cylinder's leaking .

i'm 90% positive that's your leaking problem ,it happened to me.
you should be looking at replacing both cylinders soon.

yea thats what happened to my friends cb all i can tell so far is that there is clutch fluid around and under the slave cyn on the crossmember and the hose that attaches to the fluid resivour is soaked. also would this be the main cause of it burning

could be the reason since you don't smell anything when you're good with fluid.
first thing you need to worry about now is stopping that leak.
check your cylinder and make sure it's not leaking inside the car .

guess time to drop the tranny then and see what's wrong, pressure plate or clutch is going out

soo *** lol ive also heard it can be a problem with the clutch fork being out of place causing the clutch to partially stay engaged at all times.

well i think when i get money ill just order a new clutch, slave cylinder and go to a junkyard for a clutch cylinder and what not, this is getting bad fast i dunno if im crazy but i swear now in first and second the rpms go up way higher than they should be at certain speeds as if its slipping and when i pop the hood smoke billows out lol only on the interstate tho, its fine neighborhood driving. btw any clutch recomendations? not ebay crap but not anything crazy i was thinking a oem replacement exedy cuz the one in my 240sx was awesome or a stage one exedy or spec

Exedy is good, also Competition Clutch, SPEC, ACT. Stay away from that EBAY XTD stuff or LSD Motorsports products.

ok soo i feel retarded but i got a chance to actually investigate the car further, it turned out the seal on the oil cooler was leaking onto the header which in turn caused the smoke and smell. upon removal i found the previous owner put, along with the oem seal, high temp rtv and a cork gasket. what a idiot lol. so i replaced that and the smell went away but there is still another tiny leak near that area but i havnet a clue what it is. i also figured out my slave cylinder is leaking because it is spraying all over the front cross member once i removed it it is completely rusted and shot. oreillys gave me a defective replacement, the mounting holes were drilled unaligned. so i will have to wait till tomorrow to replace that.
