ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

how to remove the power steering?

If you just take the belt off, the car will be very, difficult (though possible) to steer at parking and 3 point turn speed. You will have to use your whole torso to turn the wheel at those speeds, and your 3 point turns may become 6 point turns, with the power steering belt off and no other mods. Getting out of a parallel parking spot will require several back-and-forths, and getting into a slot parking spot may also require a few back-and-forths. Basically, any tight steering at low speed will have to be done in stages. (I know this because I lived it for 2 months this winter when my power steering pump went out and I didn't have time to change it out right away).how do you remove the power steering or can I just cut the belt off what will happen if the bt is of
To get true manual steering, --which at low speeds is much more manageable at low speeds than what I just described, and at medium and high speeds is just about as good as a power steering setup-- I believe you have to either remove the pistons inside the existing power steering rack (because they will get in the way of your manual steering effort if there is no hydraulic assist behind them) or put in a dedicated manual steering rack.
However, I am no expert on this. There are DIYs around here somewhere I think.
Personally I would think about 7 times and make sure I really understood the consequences before modifying the power steering rack top become a manual steering rack, because steering is right up there with braking as a safety future and I wouldn't want a mechanical failure in the steering systemwhile I (or anyone else) was driving because of some overlooked consequence of my mods that I didn't know about (to be redundant).
so let me get this straight? you actually want to remove the power steering? what for? so you can kill your arms in the process of trying to ACTUALLY steer?
True manual steering is not that bad. The steering you get when you just remove or have a broken power steering pump or have a broken power steering belt is not really manual steering, it is malfunctioning power steering, which is a lot harder to use at low speeds than true manual steering. At higher speeds, the power steering system modulates itself down so as to contribute little assist so the steering feel doesn't get too light anyways, so driving a power steering CB7 above about 45 mph would be roughly equivalent in steering effort to the effort of using a manual steering setup at 45 mph or above.Last edited by batever; 04-18-2010, 02:52 AM.

Most of the lines for my PS burst, so I just took it all out...
Its really not that bad once you get used to it. Just giving it a little more gas makes it eaiser to turn. Parellel parking is 100% fail though.
Right now I just cut the lines to the rack, removed the pump and most of the lines, but I need to set up a small loop for the rack so It doesnt run dry.
Mine was purposefully removed though as I alredy replaced 2 lines, but the others kept bursting. So I said F it.Last edited by EJX_Michael; 04-18-2010, 02:00 PM.

Is this a show car or a daily driver? If its a daily driver then that seems like a pretty stupid reason to make it misserable to drive.Originally posted by accordnyc View PostI seen some CB in here. With clean engine bay some of them have their AC delete power steering delete even there cruise control deleted I just want mines to look like theirs and more free space
