ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    199,000 miles of questions

Kay, my 91 Ex has been mostly a streetlight racer since 155,000 and I was wondering how much hp has been lost in all those years and miles? Do you think it is time for a rebuild? I mean it's doing great with the mods I have on it. I just wanted to know what you think. Oh, it had regular oil changes, mostly non-synthetic. But I've only had it since 193,000. Can someone please help me?

just normal maintence and tune ups. You may have lost some throttle response and minimal hp, barely noticeable probably. around 250-300 000 miles is when your gonna start thinking about a fresh rebuild, or a new motor.

Check the compression, clean the IAC valve, clean the intake, change your spark plugs, Ohm test the spark plug wires, check the cap and rotor, adjust valves, timing, and idle.

If you have good compression, good spark, and clean air fuel mixture your engine should be performing as good now as it did 100K miles ago.
It really is a labor of love making a neglected CB7 with "normal wear and tear" into something worth being proud of.

As stated above, a tune up can do wonders.

Check plugs, wires, rotor and cap. Replace if they haven't been in the past 50k.

                Do a valve adjustment.

                Clean the throttle body.

A can of seafoam and an oil change never really hurts.

                Check air filter.

With our honda's all you got to do is change the oil and filter and they will run forever.

Thanks guys. As for the sound and how it acts, very great. It's very fast. I will get on adjusting everything. You guys think that fuel injector cleaner stuff really works?

I've got new bosh platinum 4 plugs and 9mm wires for it so those are still good, saving for a good cap, so that's good. I really thought it would be a lot worse then it is. Thanks again. you guys might have saved me a few hundred bucks.
