ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

When does an f22a4 lose power?

At which range do f22a4's lose power? I was told 5 1/2 thousand rpm's. I have no way of getting it dyno tested. And i honestly can't tell if it loses power. Sp pretty much, just in case. What do you guys think?

Oh, I'm a little bit over stock- just back add-ons.

F22a4 engines, which are rated at 130hp, peak at around 5200rpm. What kind of mods do you have? Just bolt-ons?

Basic air filter, bosch 4 plugs, royal purple, 8.9 wires. after market muffler. So after peak point it just drops?

Yea 5500 rpms sounds right i had an f22a1 auto and when i took it to the 1/4 mile and ran it to 6200 it actually went slower then leaving it in drive and letting it shift around 5800.

yeah, thats not true..the motor peaks at 5200 for one thing, but im not even talin about that. if you shift at 5200, you shift at the point at which the motor begins to lose power, yes. however, the car will go faster if you continue in that gear to redline, because it still makes more power there than it does lower in the powerband where it will be if it shifts, AND the gearing is shorter in the gear that you are in, so..to summarize it..

more power in a shorter gear is faster than less power in a longer gear...yeah..that makes sense to me..

its not tuning..the f series head just isnt efficient at flowing air at that "lofty" rpm

Actually, the F22 head is plenty capable of flowing to those RPMs. The A4 intake manifold and camshaft are not.

Even with bolt ons you will still see a power peak around 5200. It might go up a bit, but it will pretty much be done pulling by 5500 regardless. I know because I had all the bolt ons.

If you put the A6 intake manifold on, it will pull about as hard as it does now, but instead of falling on its face at 5200-5300, it will continue to pull that hard to about 5900.

If you put the A6 cam in there, it will pull harder pretty much everywhere, but will still fall off at about 5900.

If you put an H series plenum and throttle body on the A6 runners, it will pull into the F22A6 rev limit of 6700 RPM.
