ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

My cb7 has a check engine light and won't rev past 4k rpm

Hi everyone, I'm new here and to the car scene so I'm sorry if this is a simple issue and I can't figure it out haha. Anyway, when I start my cb7 up, doesn't matter the temperature outside, it'll start with a check engine light. If I continue to drive with said light, I won't be able to rev past the 4k rpm mark. I've noticed though, that when I turn the engine off and turn it back on shortly after I don't get the light. Does anyone know what's going on and/or what the solution to my problem is? If it helps, my car will stall a little sometimes and when it does I get the same light and problem. Thank you all

Well I think when it will only go to 4K rpm it's called "limp mode". The car has limited speed to stop any more problems from occurring or so it doesn't die (or kill you). So please stop driving it and let's check the engine light code. After that it's a matter of troubleshooting and fixing.

Raf99 Thank you! I had no idea it was in limp mode. Is it ok to keep driving for work? Because this is my only car I have running atm. I’ll definitely look at that check engine light though

Raf99 Sorry for the spam, I checked it out and apparently it’s my tdc sensor how would I go about replacing that? Is it ok to keep driving?

Ya, probably best if you take it to a shop and they'll help you out here. To my knowledge, the TDC sensor is located in the Distributor. There may also be oil leaking / contamination in there too.
