ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    suspension and brake

Good morning, I would like to know if anyone has already bought this brake kit that sells at rockauto! If so, just simply take the old one out and put the new one in? Or is there some kind of adaptation? Despite the kit being high performance, I would like to use it on a daily basis, due to the car's brakes being bad correlated to the weight of the car and the dimensions of the original disks being small, only 252mm.

As for the suspension, has anyone bought it from rockauto? Is it just taking the old one off and putting the new ones on or do you need to do some adaptation? I'm from Brazil, and the market for these products here is scarce and of inferior quality. thank you for your attention and feedback!

Hey. Ya that brake kit is the same size as OEM just drilled / slotted rotors. I do recommend drilled / slotted rotors though as it's a pain to change them (non-hub over rotor setup). I always warped cheap routers, guess I'm an "aggressive driver" the dealerships say
Nothing wrong with Power Stop, I bought some for the Audi. BUT they are on the cheap end, ie: mine will rust easily, I have to put clear coat on them. (maybe a cheaper finishing process as I think the thickness is the same as others). More expensive rotors would be EBC for example. I've had a set on my Honda for probably 10 years now lol.

As for struts. Meh. They're all the same IMO (unless you're going with coilovers, more expensive units). Limited options these days for just normal OEM struts. &....... it makes your car look far too high anyways. Why not buy some coilovers and just lower the car 1".

Guess Honda intended these cars to clear logs in the road or something, look at that gap..., but really it was probably to raise the seat height for grandma to get in and out easily.

There are 1" and 2" springs you can buy for the struts. You should buy the appropriate strut for the spring (tein, etc.) but I won't lie and say thousands for years used OEM struts with 1" lowering springs on here.

        or if you can guide me in the best way a good brake kit, it doesn't have to be of high level like the EBC, but of good and reliable quality. In this link that I posted above rockauto, would it suit me perfectly? Will I need to make any adjustments? Because I don't intend to modify the car, I want to keep the original first, because I'm still getting to know the car As for the suspension, what would you recommend? in this case I just want to remove my old original one, and put another one in its place, without having to adapt anything. Maybe adjust height, cut a spring bundle only; if you can send a link, thank you for researching and saving money to import to Brazil;

Yes, anything from Rock Auto or a reputable company will work fine. I would simply order as much as you can OEM (from Honda) or everything at once from Rock Auto. Don't bother with drilled / slotted, just OEM stuff. And I would trust Rock Auto over those other sites, although I've ordered from tdotperformance.ca (but all performance stuff). Just order Like an average mechanic would do if he had your car. (if you want to know what they use just hang near the shop at 10am and watch for the delivery guy. The tech's 9am turned in to hell and they need parts ASAP usually).
