ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

I have looked into this, and personally don't feel boost is a good idea. I have read that the stock block will handle 10lbs of boost. If you want your car to last though while on boost, be prepared to dip deep into your pockets because you will want to build the bottom end...forged rods and pistons, steel sleeved cylinders, ect. Basic setup will cost around 4g's CDN just for the turbo kit. Building the motor to handle the boost will probably run you near 7g's or so. Next you will want to decide on what kinda boost you want, turbo or supercharger. Read up on booth of these before you decide. Turbo requires spool up but can produce massive amounts of boost. Superchargers are engaged as soon as you start your car, but boost is more gradual. But yeah, read read and READ! You'll figure it all out hope this helps, and correct me if im wrong!

^^^ yea that man. As long as the tune is spot on, a stock f22 can handle it.

I've seen a built daily driven F22A run 11.7... and it ran 11.5 later that night. Not a waste of money, IMO. Beyond 11s, traction on a daily driven car becomes a huge factor anyway.

And yes, it does cost quite a bit to do it properly. The revered DSM kit has been set as the standard for boosting a CB7... and while it DOES work, it's a ghetto fix at best. A REAL kit with a good turbo will cost a pretty penny. To properly boost my H22, I was looking at over 10 grand US.

Same. I have looked into getting an H22 and doing the swap, and then boosting it. But the H22 really isn't made for boost, even low amounts. It will blow up eventually. Same with the f22, if its not built to handle the boost, it'll only be a matter of time. If you boost, take the time and invest the money, no matter what motor your running. The 4g turbo kit i found was from Turbonetics. In my opinion one of the best turbo's on the planet, especially if you race competitively. And most machine shops where I live cost 5g's and up to bore and sleeve small import motors. Ah, the joys of living in a little town...not.

I want to know what you would do to build the f22 that would cost 7k.
gaskets, bearings, forged pistions and rods. beyond that, as long as the motor is healthy, what would you do to prepair the f22 for boost? now with the h22 if you wanna resleve I can see that getting expenxsive

I agree with dbsharp, the F22 is the mother of Honda blocks. There are alternate routes to purchasing a new turbo kit. You can piece one together, with a Hondata, upgraded fuel system and still spend under 3 grand. You can use the DSM setup that is on this site, as well, and spend $1200 or less. The key is to TUNE properly. There is even a thread on this site on tuning. Purchase books on the theme and research, research, research. I believe MRX on this site has some good maps for the DSM setup. The DSM setup is a great place to start and get to know alot more about turbos. Later you can save up and "fortify" your block by swapping out the pistons, rods, sleeving etc. It's all a matter of how much you have to spend.

Once you feel a boosted CB, you'll wonder why you even doubted in the first place and the amount of money spent just became worthy of ever single penny!!!

If I was gonna build a CB7 F22 to PROPERLY handle boost, it would cost 7k becuase it would be bored, sleeved, forged pistons, forged conrods, crankshaft, bearings, gaskets, and more then likely adjustable cams. Thats just where I would start though. I would want a reliable DD.

Good idea. Reliability is key. It'll last forever if you have it done right and tuned.
