ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Check your coolant level, and please search. There are 2 more threads floating around with the same question.

you dont have a heating coil, you have a heater core, but you have to pull the dash to replace it, and your thermostat is in your upper radiator hose housing, usualy 2 bolts and a gasket, cost about 10bucks at autozone, might be worth a shot. i would start at the thermastat and go from there, start at the cheapest thing than work twards your dash being pulled outNew cb, new start

What does your temp guage say? If it is climbing really high, then it probably is a thermostat. If your temp is normal, but no heat, you may have to play with the heater core.
I have seen situation where people didn't change their coolant enough and it caused the heater core to get blocked up. One way to try to check for this is to thoroughly flush your system. Here are some steps to do it:
1) Drain your coolant (be careful with the old coolant as it is not good for the environment and cats and dogs do like to drink it... and die...)
2) Fill your radiator back up with plain water.
3) Start the car and let it run for about ten minutes.
4) Shut it off and drain it again.
Do this until the water starts coming out clear. I think you can also get to the hoses for the heater core from the engine bay. You can try to clean from there as well. It is a real pain in the ass to clean a heater core if it is clogged. It will work for a bit and then get clogged again as some other gunk gets lodged.

you can flush the system by opening the plug on the bottom center of your radiator, righty tighty lefty loosey as always and make sure you have somthing to hold all the coolant, i think its 4 gallons total with watter, but dont quote me.
yeah if the heater core is even partialy clogged its prolly better to change it out, the openings inside of it are usualy so small that its more of a headache to clean it than to change it, i pulled my dash b4 i put my car in the garage, and its only 9 bolts and a few wire harnesses. just be carefull and remember where the harnesses go because behind you dash you might as well get some sauce for all that spagettiLast edited by 91h22cb7lx; 10-11-2006, 11:54 PM.New cb, new start
