    fully open hood

i was wondering how do u get your hood to become full open, and stand by itself like this? do u drill a hole at the lower end of the hood or is there one there. and add a little metal bar.
if any one has done this it would be a good diy thread

On the Civic (and most likely the Teg) there way the hood prop is designed allows the hood to work like that.

Our hood prop doesn't go straight up, it angles in. In the Civic its along the edge of the fender. Thus it can pop up easier.

it's factory.... the DC2 have two slots for holding the hood up. Same with the civics, EG and EK.

Thanks to Ronald for the great picture.

I open my hood all the way whenever I'm working on the engine to let more light in. Make sure you either extend the washer fluid flex hose from the fender to the hood (driver's side), or you'll have to manually reattach it each time.

As for keeping the hood open, I usually just use bungee cables. Probably not the appearance you want.
I swear, eventually I'll run out of things to break.

I guess I was wrong... I broke it all. Died 10/29/06

my car does it as well..

all you do is just pull back the hood as much as possible...so I don't know try it on yours...but if you have like a hood damper or something..you might want to take em off and try it

                        good luck

pop the hood and push it all the way up and it should stay like that well for me atleast.

                            Heres are some pictures.

mine also stands up on end. if you want to be careful, you can put the end of the prop rod in one of the holes in the corner near the driver side hinge, itll help hold it up and its held higher than normal
