    Mugen CB research

You know what guys, I'm still trying to do research on real Mugen CB accord parts. I know for a fact Mugen did make CA accord parts... I've seen a jdm ca mugen accessory book myself and the things in there that really caught my eye were the 3 different mugen flushmount spoilers for that gen car. I don't think Mugen would just make CA accord parts and then skip the CB chassis and head to the CD. The CB chassis was a very popular chassis in japan next to the CD as far as performance and styling. I can't wait to go to Japan again this fall or early next year spring. I'm going to do some heavy scouting for real proof mugen did make parts for our cars whether it's a japanese magazine or if I get my hands on a real deal part, I want this unsolved mystery to be SOLVED!

I contacted King Motorsports a fews years back and inquired about the CB model. I was told Mugen never made any parts for the CB. But the guy sounded like he wanted to get rid of me quickly. So...I would like to know too. Good luck with the search. And may the force be with you.

I think if mugen made stuff for our car atleast one person here would have something from them or you would've seen something popped up on Ebay seeing that there is all this JDM craze going on. .02

You have to remember our cars aren't common tuner cars here in the states. Even in japan for whatever reason, the CB9 wagons were more heavily tuned than the Sedan/Coupe models..... however in the Hyper Rev magazine I have, there is no mugen parts shown for the CB9. Maybe because it was built here? But the CD chassis has mugen parts for it.

Finding a mugen part for a CB3 accord would probably be like finding a mugen part for a CA Accord or BA prelude. I have a deep gut feeling they CB mugen parts exist, but then most of these cars that were lucky to have these parts are either kept by their owners for nostalgia or were recycled along with the car.

Shooot our cars are supposingly getting rare in japan. They junk a CB over there with under 70k'ish miles in prestine looking condition. How many rare accord CA or BA parts do you see on e-bay? Very scarce huh? and for the most part, some jdm parts are now being sourced through places outside Japan. You can find CA Accord sidemarkers and little stuff all day...but the real deal RHD-spec optional stuff you'll most likely find at a recycle yard outside of japan like in the UK where some RHD J-spec vehicles are living and surviving longer.

The last time I saw a rare flushmount for the CA accord on e-bay was like back in 1999. When you think of a tuner honda, the first cars that will come to a enthusiasts mind is a Civic or Integra because it's more common. Some people who even recycle honda parts are now finally jumping on the bandwagon that there is a market for CB3/7 Accord parts on e-bay.... they are probably kickin themselves in the @ss for just selling the engines out of accords when they could've made $40 on a jdm "non-smokers personal storage box sticker" on a US-spec looking ashtray.

I have pictures of a CA chassis accord mugen book somewhere and I seriously don't think they skipped the CB chassis. If there are mugen parts for our gen accord, I put money on it that it'll probably be for the sedan model since the Coupes/wagons were built here in the US.

From what i've seen, Mugen has made at least something for every car in the honda lineup even if it wasn't necessarily "race performance improving spec" they made subtle or semi aggressive race inspired aero for even the slow boxy mini/large vans etc.

That recent topic on the Legend mugen aero....that was very interesting and gave me more hope to try to find out what the deal is on your chassis.
I can't wait till I go to Japan...... As soon as I find the CA mugen pics, i'll post them here. I bet those flushmounts will bolt right on since US-89-93 3-leg wings are supposed to be universal...

I've been using Yahoo.jp same thing but without limitations. I don't like how rinkyas system is setup where if u want to do a "specific search" u have to e-mail rinkya and they will setup a specific one in your favorite searches within 2-3days because of the complicated japanese.

I have a japanese keyboard and I can switch over to use japanese character sets and type exactly what i'm searching for. Rinkya tries to translates what u want to find in "romanji" or "kanji" but sometimes it still can't get a good specific search done that way and your limited to Rinkyas staffs translated description.

I already found Mugen Ascot, Prelude BA, and Accord CA parts. CB's will pop up shortly i'm sure.

I have family all over Japan and some living at Yokota AFB. My cousin has internet so i just ask him to buy stuff and then give it to family at the base to ship it regular us-postal to me. EMS shipping is way to expensive.
