What material is it made out of? I think these will only be good for applying wax...

first one feels like a paper towel, second one is foam, third is like a microfiber, and last one is like reg cotton

I'd probably only use the cotton one to apply wax.

the foam and wool pads are for polishes, which in turn are for paint defect removal.

the two micro fiber and terry bonnets are for wax application.

i'd hate to say it, but the turtle wax orbital isn't good for much other than wax application. it just doesn't have the grunt needed for proper defect removal.

i would invest in one of these:

that along with the proper pads and polishes can make your paint shine in a way you never thought possible. later.

              The last one.

Hey, TypeG are you going to be trying a Ultimate Detailing Machine or will you continue to stick with the PC?

last night i turned it on for the first time, its pretty powerful imho,
i only need one for wax, and polish, and i think it can do it.

It'll be fine for applying wax and some polishing, but don't expect amazing results. Every machine has it's limitations, and the PC TypeG recommended is a pretty nice step up that will give you good results.
