Exhaust help

I got my skunk2 for 250 dollars like 2 years ago, still sounds great. it also came with a baffle, if i put it in, you cant hear shit.. its so quiet..

there is nothing wrong with a $50 muffler. i got an obx off ebay... and it sounds fine. a little loud cause, as any straightthru design would be. but i have a magnaflow resonator and no cat. if i put the cat in, it sounds just like my friends greddy evo... at just a fraction of the cost. absolutely no raspiness.

it took a little getting used to, but i like how my exhaust sounds now. unless you are swapped, or need alot of flow, dont take out your cat... wont do you much good. and someone has to save the ozone... cause im not doing a very good job.

Also, a little side note. My skunk2 muffler came with a baffle, i installed it today, and it sounds like a stock car, you cant even hear it...

How much did you pay for your skunk2 muffler?

Also, I have a local shop near me selling RS*R GT2 Universal Mufflers for 200 even. Good price???????

no.. aero.. heed my advice.. dont replace the cat.. with a resonator.. first try out the stock one .. its a measly 1-3hp man.. lol.. my 93 setup consists of
2.5" headerback.. no cat.. resonator.. 14"-16" or so.. to a megan muffler with DC header.. ask deever to chim in.. its the deepest shit ive heard.. and maybe its he fac that its crushbent i.e/higher velocity in the corners that allows it to not sound like shit compared to an equal bend(mandrel) exhaust..

but yeah if u have the stock cat laying around put it on before u go spending MORE money plz..hit me back on AIM

still gotta call and see what the exhaust shops say.. but I think i'll try the turbo muffler, and then maybe replace the cat w/a resonator. Hopefully that'll do it.

I think it is the carsound cat, because it sounds like the resonators are pretty new, and the mufflers shoudn't be too buzzing.

meh.. for some reason.. i have the feeling it deals with ur carsound cats.. a number of u in the first page all said u had carsound cat.. how bout going back to stock.. i can bet u ull raspy/loud shit will be gone.. 10 buxs says so

I am planning on buying a 2.5" cat back mandrel bent exhaust from kteller.com. How much work did it take to make it fit? I made an exhaust for my car from pepboys exhaust bends, and that required alot of work, so hopefully this wont be too much. The sound of your car depends on the cat, resonator, and muffler. If the muffler is made like shit, it will sound bad. If you cat is bad, it will get kinda raspy, if you had bad resonator, you sound like a bumble bee. I had a 3a racing muffler on my car with axle back exhuast(2.25") and it was loud, but never buzzes or anything. Actually it was kinda deep too.
