Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Intake Question

Does anyone know if an ACE cold air intake is good quality? I know one of the top is AEM but I can get an ACE really cheap.

Well it says it fits 90-93 accords, which is what I have, and it comes with all the hardware it needs with instructions. It sounds like a good deal but I just dont hear of people talking about that brand so I was wondering if I missed something.

You may want to check and see if its for and ABS car or NON-ABS car. The bends have to be just right to bypass the ABS unit.

the other difference between AEM and the other brands is that AEM is CARB certified.

that is how it is in my area if the police are anal enough for you to make you pop your hood. In most cases you'll fail a 'visual' emissions inspection if you have an air induction system without a CARB sticker on it. When emissions inspector open your hood, that's the first thing they look for.

aem is a bunch of bs. most intakes are good quality. the jacked up price you pay for aem has nothing to do with the quality of a piece of metal, its all about that carb sticker, just like fizz said.

just go ahead and get the cheap one, if you dont live in CA, you dont have to worry about it. right now i have a 3" coldair meant for a 92-96 prelude, and it fits fine. and ive never had a problem with any intakes ive purchased. they all fit and worked just as well as an aem coldair i had... only got it cause i paid $75 for it.

if you want a cheap legal intake look around on ebay for a cp intake(checkpoint).
