Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Stock F22A1 Connecting Rods?

Any idea what kind of power they can hold?

I'm going to be rebuilding the engine this summer, forged pistons, aftermarket rings, H23 headswap, etc. and will be turboing it as well. If they can hold upwards of 325whp reliably, I'll stick with them instead of forged ones.

    why skimp

if your getting forged pistons your gonna have to resleeve your block and then you might as well get good rods. stock ones as a general rule i heard was 50% more horsepower overstock. so example would be 140hp ratred f22a6 would be max hp you wanna put on them 210whp without worring about damaging bottom end.

Resleeving the block? Ehhh, don't think so...F22A has iron sleeves, not nikasil like H23 and H22. Even then, Mahle just came out with forged pistons for the H22 that don't require resleeving.

            Many thanks!

I have a line on some OEM rods w/ 3k miles on them that have been shot peened. Looks like all that is left to do is ARP bolts and cryo. Booya.

Rods are generally one of the stronger points of Honda engines. Almost always the pistons are the weakest part of the engine.

^ I have the same engine stand... except mine has my dad's 350 on it...

So arp rod bolts will help prevent from throwing a rod? I just want my turbo f22b to last me 4 months, the I go to college and don't have to worry about it
