Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    VTECH activation rpm?

for all you guys with the h22 at what rpm does vtechc activate??? i have yet to experience vtech in my car ..yet....just curious...thanks!

first its vtec, not vtech. dont mean to be a dick at all, but if i didnt say something, the next person would have. you should see how hard they are on guys over on h-t about saying vtech.

anyways, i believe stock engagement is 5200. personally thats what it has always been for me. the day i drove my car home from the shop almost 2 years ago it was already chipped... and all my friends are running b's or k's, so they dont know.

It is 5200 rpms for VTEC engagement point. Assuming we are talking about the typical H22 setup.

In stock form it is 5200rpm's on the h22, now some of us have it knocked down to 4600

i had it at 4600 and i didnt like it to much. well not at all i would prefer 4800 or better 4900. there was just more pull with that

and um please so vtec i know they told u this but the other thing that is corny that people do is V-TEC...... there is no slash or hyphen in the valve cover or manual wtf...... just had to get it out since there are still others out there that suck

usually changing Vtec on a stock or even only bolt -ons engine wont get advantages at all.. and everyone who says let it engage earlier might not yield more power but it does help, when Vtec engages it stresses the valvetrain 9all aspects) so technicallly the lower it engages then the longer ur stock valvetrain will last, keeps valves from floating after getting to warn out... now this is theoredical, but it is proven that the higher vtec engages does stress the valvetrain...
