Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

You can but I really dont see much use of the AFC after a chipped ECU. Unless you just use it for minor correction.

yes and to monitor other things on the AFC.. i didn't know if it would make the ecu go crazy or what not

there is absolutely no need for an afc if you have an ecu.

if you want to monitor things, get gauges or get a laptop to datalog.

well when your factory tac is off.. and your idle is going crazy its kinda hard to adjust isn't it? took me 6 months to finally figure out the stock tac is off till redline.. at 500-1000rpms it still says 500rpms.. at 2700 actual rpms the stock tac reads a lil over 3000rpms... don't feel like carrying a laptop in my car at all times.

You should fix those things before worrying about performance.

rofl.. fix what? cuz the stock tac is going to blow up my engine.. the needle will bounce everywhere when its not actually doing it.. thats why i put the afc in there to see if the tac is just fucked up.. it reads correctly after 5500rpms.. thats all i care about. put your laptop in a freezer!!! thats what its like here in MN if i left a laptop in my car.

                get an aftermarket tac then.

but if all you're gona use the afc for is your tac then its all gravy.

ok heres a question, if i have an FMU rigged into my car to control boost on a supercharger can i still chip, or would the FMU be pointless after a chip or just fuck things up...

Dependin on who installed it properly and if its tuned properly. Youll just complicate things more ,then in the end just straight up fuck shit up. Just stick with the standalone get it tuned 1 good time and call it a day.

the afc will be used to see what my rpms actually are, if and idle problem accurs, vacuum.. and throttle % thats about all.. and minor correction if i need it.

but i don't need anymore gauges, i have volts, oil pressure, a/f, water temp

Its alot safer to read a tach than to look at an SAFC to shift IMO. Personally i'd fix the tach, end up saving you like $150-200 off the cost of the AFC anyways.

I have a VAFC =D. I dont depend on it to shift though. I just use it to measure my peak readings thats it after a run or so. Other than that it just sits there. Plus I got it for free so yea.

u could also add a shift light with the ecu. I guess i'm more concerned about the racing aspects of not having a tach
