Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    DIY Custom turbo setup list

Turbo list for those that need it. This is basically my setup in a nutshell but by no means all the little additives i have. You won't need a wastegate for the dsm turbos and the stock dsm manifolds are MUCH cheaper.

    copper gasket spray - $4
    thread lock - $3
exhaust manifold for t3 flange $196 shipped
turbo exhaust inlet gasket - $5
Turbo exhaust outlet gasket (5 bolt flange) - $6
2 exteranl wastegate gaskets for tial wg - $4 each
various nuts and bolts - $10
    vaccum tubes - $15-20
1 step colder NGK spark plugs - $11
    intercooler piping - $100-150
    silicone hose connectors - $50-75
    DSM 450cc injectors - $50
injector o-ring kit - $8 each...u can reuse your current ones if they are still good
    t3/t04e Turbo
Downpipe with 5 bolt flange - $150 total i'd say
Custom air intake - Hacked up my old intake ($20 worth of aluminum piping)
    chipped p06 ecu - $70 (total)
    turbo timer - $50
    electrical tape - $3
    extra wire - $4
    oil pan gasket - $14
    oil - $4 a quart
    oil filter - $10
    blow-off valve - $50-175
    Front mount intercooler - $100-300
    boost gauge - $25
    oil catch can - $25
Oil line kit - $78 shipped
    T-clamps - $3-4 each
    hose clamps - $1-2 each
    manual boost controller - $35
    wastegate - $150-200
Custom dumptube for wastegate - $20

wow i didn't know u needed that many gasket.

and is the chipped p06 ecu needed? or can i use stock ecu with Safc?

and do diffrent types of turbo (t25 or 16g, etc) need diffrent exhaust manifold ?

    thx!

u can use whatever you want for fuel management. Chipped ecu was my choice

      1G dsm manifold fits - 14b, 13G, 16G, 18G, and 20G i believe
2G dsm manifold fits - T-25...unsure of others

      Please correct if i'm wrong

how did you make a boost controller? And the 1st gen DSM manifold should fit the t25, right?

I didn't make my boost controller i bought it

and the flange for the t-25 is different from the 14b so it won't fit unless u get an adapter plate

are t bolt clamps ABSOLUTELY necessary? running 10 psi. what about turbo timer if i plan on running coolant lines through turbo. 14B

hose clamps will do but t-clamps almost insure no hoses will be popping off. Theres no real need to run a turbo timer if u have the coolant lines hooked up. But still take it easy on the car when u know your about to shut the engine off.
