Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    smic

anyone have any good ideas where I could put a smic? i dont want it in the engine bay, i want a more functional place.. I was thinking where the old intake resonater was.. but any ideas would be great.. the one i was thinkin about was to run both of the pipes, from the tb, and from the turbo.. up in front of the batt(toward the windshield) then out into the wheel well to the smic(where the resonater was) what do u guys think.. ? oh ya.. and I dont have that inner wheel well piece in there

The first or second gen dsm intercoolers fit very nicely in the fender well where the stock resonator was. Not the best in terms of efficiency, but they are plentiful and dirt cheap.

I was going to go with a SMIC in the resonator spot... an old CAI would provide the perfect piping for it! It wouldn't be the best for efficiency, but that's where they usually went on the cars they came from. The only problem there is that there isn't much airflow. That area is a pretty dead area, since all the air goes around the fender and under the car. It's not like a cold air intake that's sucking in air! Air has to have access and pass through the intercooler.
