I can get a saab t3 turbo for 75$ So my questions are 1) is it worth it? 2)can this turbo get me around 240whp 3) will this turbo be hard to find a manifold that will work with it? 4) can a dsm manifold bolt up with the turbo? (with work or not)

$75 isnt a bad price, assuming good condition. 240whp might be a little out of the reach of the saab T3s, at least at 10psi and under. and no, it will not bolt to the DSM manifold

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I have a question along the lines of this thread.
I understand the 16g is better than the 14b, and t25. I have been told the t3 is about the same as the 16g, maybe a slight size difference.
My question is this: which turbo would be better: t3 or 16g?
I understand the 16g comes from the DSM. Where else would I find a t3? Saab's obviously have them. So I should just get the t3 and have someone cut me an adaptor plate? Or, is it much easier and convenient to just use a 16g?
Help is greatly appreciated!

that depends on what size the t3 is. asking if you should get a t3 is like asking if you should get a dsm turbo. Theres more than one.
A decent sized t3, imo would be with .63 turbine, and .60 compressor(you can mix and match housing as you wish, and still be pretty cheap). Not too small, not too big. It also doesnt spool as soon as a 16g would on our motors, threfore, it also wouldnt choke up in the top end.
thats just my .02
