Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Need a straight up answer about the MAP sensor

    What can it do as far as sensing pressure? I've searched a bit and I can't find a real answer. I've heard 1 bar, 10psi, not at all. idk, I just need a quick answer.

    The stock map sensor reads up to around 11psi.

    1bar=14.5psi

        for most if not all turbo setups running around 10psi, i think a 2.5 bar sensor would be recommended. Any boost creep or boost spikes could be devastating, but properly fueled with the proper map sensor.

        The 2.5 motorollas are quite cheap anyways.
        I've got an extra lying around if you're intersted for $20 shipped. Let me know.

            You'll need to find the diagram, commonly found on Honda-Tech or Google it, and then solder the wires to the pins on the map sensor.

                hondata has a website that shows what to do. Also i think GM makes the 2.5 bar sensor for like early fuel injection models

                  Yep you would need a 2bar and up sensor to run boost properly. 2 bar would allow you to run 14.5 lbs, 3 bar would allow you 29 or so lbs of boost and so on.

                  GM makes a 3 bar sensor. You can buy from dealer or on ebay. They are hard to come by in yards so yea. They cost around 65 ish as i recall. They might have a 2.5 bar. I forgot what they used in the Grand National. The 3 Bar was used in a turbocharged firebird or something like that back in the day.
