Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

I, however, am confused. Could you not upgrade the final drive with a different type of LSD, or does he mean just with this particular company's gear sets?

I'm wanting Carbonetic's ATS 1.5 way LSD (here), as well as their 4.643 final drive gear set (here).

This is exactly what I plan on doing to my car soon. Only issue I've read about is that the f22 5th gear needs to be machined down a little cause it's wider than the H gear.

Also, I see a lot of mention in this thread about the M2B4 Tranny. Be careful when buying aftermarket parts for these because a lot of them specify that they "Don't fit LSD equipped models."

        Good thread!

^Right, I have always been under the impression that you CANNOT add an aft. mkt. FD gearset to an OEM LSD tranny. Yet Shaun Van Beers installed the MFactory FD into a Euro R gearbox AKA T2W4 which is OEM LSD. I am going to assume that the M2B4, T2W4, T2T4, etc... all use the identical LSD or maybe they don't, IDK.

But I am curious since that FD was added to an OEM LSD tranny. Also, MFactory uses a USDM Prelude VTEC as an example for ETE, yet, the M2F4 is non-LSD. How could their FD unit fit both an M2F4 and a T2W4? 2 diff. designs maybe? Sorta thinking out loud here, I'll have to contact MFactory to see if they're stuff'll fit an M2B4.

Well The guy who used it (Shaun Van Beers) did say at first it was for the T2W4 trans, but then he also stated that it can be used with other transmission that have Helical LSD. I don't Honestly don't know about the Viscous LSD...my guess is "that's a negative ghostrider"

And to GraniteCB7, yes all of them use the same lsd. The only H- series trans that didn't use the helical is the type-s preludes, that used the viscous lsd

I want that 4.6 final drive! That Prelude was a beast with that 5.2 final drive in the after video.

Yeah, 4.6 looks to be the best compromise between acceleration and cruising RPM if you really want to upgrade the final drive. The 'after' video never gets old, that Prelude boogies. When I go to beef up my transmission, it'll be interesting to see if an Accord fifth gear will lower that 70mph RPM from 3900 for better mileage.

Watch this get moved to N/A, lol.
