    5lug + BigBrake kit

I just pick up the 5lug conversion from 90cb7sleeper a few hours ago. I am also adding the PowerSlot Big Brake kit front and rear.

Front 10.2 to 12.19 inch rotors. 97+ prelude
    Rear 10 to 12 inch rotors. 98+ accord v6

gonna need that stopping power for the mtn run.

Good stuff man! You'll love it..I'm currently running Wilwood BBK for BB6 Lude with 323mm (12.71") front rotors and loving it...Will be doing 323mm rear rotors next summer when my rear brake pads run out!

Out of curiousity, what kind of front calipers will you be running? The admin of Vancouver Accords has been running the exact same setup you just purchased for a while now, and he's running Spoon twin-block calipers up front...Works awesome! But Spoon calipers and other OEM Honda calipers run stock size pads, and they only cover a little bit of the rotor surface I'm kind of glad my setup runs much bigger brake pads!

Well anyways, bottom line: Minimal brake fade! Post pics of the actual goodies when they arrive man

The only option I found for my rear brakes so far was the same 4-pot Wilwood Forged SuperLite calipers I'm currently running up front, but pistons matched for correct brake bias..I almost went through with it, but came to my senses and realized that it was just a bit too overkill for my current setup..Running those calipers in the rear require me to run a separate secondary parking brake caliper, not to mention fabbing up mounting brackets and what not like what I did with my front brake setup..Overall it was going to cost me close to $2K JUST for the 323mm rear brakes with 4-pot calipers and secondary e-brake calipers, so I decided to hold off on it My car isn't THAT fast anyways

But other than that, so far I haven't found any other alternatives for bigger rear calipers..Honda seems to use the same rear calipers for most of their line-ups? lol mind you, I haven't really been looking either, because my current brake setup is more than sufficient enough to slow me down from 200km/h to a complete stop without breaking a sweat or making a noise Braking bias feels good so far, I don't get that much nose dive during braking...I'd imagine that once I install my 323mm rear rotors, it would help brake balance even more..But as it is, the stock rear calipers seem to be doing a great job of doing what it's supposed to do! So no complaints here..But if I do find an alternative for bigger rear calipers, I'll let you know

As for front calipers...How much do NSX calipers go for? Personally, I'd rather spend a bit more and go with something else..NSX calipers are nice and all, but they are still floating calipers..I'd say go with some used Spoon twin-blocks if you can find a set...They run 4-pots, and they are non-floating! Totally different feeling compared to 'normal' floating calipers

            Just my .02 though

ok thanks for the info, i might as well get the spoon's bc the nsx calipers will cost me about the same as bnib spoon calipers. i will probably run legend calipers until i can get up the money for the spoon calipers.

Can the calipers and brackets used for the traditional wagon/lude vtec ROH swap (11" rotors) be used with the 5 lug swap? or are those different calipers and brackets? I've been looking into this option as well, but don't want to get new calipers for a 3rd time.

Yeah that's definitely too much for "OEM" 2-pot floating calipers..Spoon twin-blocks or mono-blocks are the way to go..OR if you do have access to a shop that can fab custom brackets, there are always other options you can look into..

I chose my calipers simply because they are beefier than the Spoon, lighter, and much cheaper ($350 each BNIB)...But again, if you or someone can fab up custom brackets, you can always look into the Brembos from STi, Evos, G35, etc. etc

Should be fine man..Just make sure the number on the bracket matches the thickness of the rotors you're getting...So 23T brackets for 23mm thick rotors, 25T for 25mm, etc..I believe yours should say 23T? Seems to be the most common one...My BB6 front knuckles were sporting 17CL15VN calipers, 23T brackets and 23mm thick rotors...Some said that wagons come with 25T brackets, but I can't confirm you on that one..Sorry!

But I believe 1st gen Ody, 1st gen CR-V, '98-'02 V6 Accords, DC2 ITRs, BB2 and BB6 Ludes, 90-97 Accord wagons, and so on, all use the same 17CL15VN calipers and brackets? The only difference is the 23T or 25T for rotor thickness..

                  Hope that helps!

I was up at a friends shop today and noticed his wife's 08 TL type-S has brembo's on it. and from looking at it i think i might go with that setup in the front, if i can find a set. The type-S has 12" rotors in the front. and the mounting point looks the same. So if it works out thats what i will be using.

Yeahh!!! Totally forgot about TL front calipers! I believe even the non-Brembo ones are also non-floating? (The ones with big fat "TL" letters stamped on)..So that's definitely an option! I was looking at those at the beginning of this year before I went through with my project, but found that they were still more expensive than my Wilwoods lol so I decided to stick with Wilwoods for now...TL calipers are definitely beefy though!

Anyways, good luck with whatever you decide to go with man!! And keep me updated please! My next upgrade if my current calipers EVER need replacing would be the Wilwood FSL-6 6-pot calipers haha but I doubt it will happen anytime soon

How are you guys fitting all these calipers? Do you have to custom fab brackets? Do you have a jig set up to make more brackets? If so, I might hit you up in the future lol.

I see. That's interesting about the TL Brembo's. I was mainly talking about custom calipers like spec Brembo, Wilwood, and the Spoon monoblock or twinblock.
