clank noise comming from driver wheel

    Howdy,

Everytime I go over a bump in my CB7 I hear this matalic clank, clank...noise.

If I go slowly over a pot hole then I dont hear the noise. So, I'm a tad confused as to what it could be. What it's not: I've had the suspention checked out by a really trustworthy mechanic.

If I park on a hill facing upwards, and pull the ebrake, turn the car off, and then take my foot off the brake, as the car rests against the E-Brake, I hear the clank. (just once though, not twice).

As the car goes over small tiny bumps it clank-clanks.

One final note, I had the car running, in netural with E-Brake on the other day on a level surface and I kicked my driverside wheel on the rim (14") that is closest to the front of the car and I heard the same clank noise.

Does anyone have any idea what it could be? I'm sure it has to be in the wheel somewhere...

    Thanks

I think it has to do with your bushings.....I had a 92 honda accord and I had a problem similar to that.....I had my bushing replaced and the problem never happend again.....Yeah check your bushings

      Thanks,

I forgot to mention, I just change both swaybar bushings, left and right.

      Any other ideas?

      Thanks

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but I am having this exact same issue and was wondering if anyone could tell me exactly what the problem is since there were two different answers here, and no response from the op.

Bump< Does anyone now which part is going to need replacing? I can't stand the loud noise it makes every time I hit a bump, it sounds like I am getting into a wreck or hitting something big in the road every time i hit the tiniest thing.

              Lots of possibilities:

              - Swaybar bushings
              - UCA & Balljoint
              - LCA Balljoint
              - Tie rods

Not sure if anyone is interested to know, but it turned out to be none of the things stated above. Apparently the bolts holding the bracket that holds the brake calipers on had came loose. To bad it took the brake caliper falling off and scratching the shit out of my rims for me to figure this out.
