    h23 tranny

I have an f22b on the way, and I plan on using my f22a tranny for now. As I undestand, the h23 tranny will bolt up and is better because it is stronger with shorter gears. Now, can I use my clutch from my f22a tranny(It is an Exedy, that's why I want to keep it)? ANd does anyone know where I can buy just an h23 transmission? Thanks
BTW I did do a search on this and im not finding much.

Well, the H23 tranny does have shorter gears, but it isn't really stronger than the F22 tranny. You should be able to use your clutch with it no problem. I believe all the F/H parts are interchangable.

Your best bet for finding an H23 tranny cheap would be junk yards... I absolutely love www.car-part.com. It's a junkyard search engine.

i have also heard that the h23 tranny is stronger internaly. But understand that the clutch has nothing to do with the tranny as long as the shaft and the clutch have the same number of splines it will work. But you may want to change the flywheel to an h22a flywheel and clutch. Simply because there is more surface area for the clutch to work on with that flywheel than with the smaller f22a flywheel and clutch.

It's a myth that the H series trannies are stronger than the F. The F series are just as strong. There are a number of high powered Hondas running F series transmissions.

I don't know about the clutch and flywheel size being different, but if that is the case, then I agree with 90H22Accord on that one for sure. More area = more grip. The prelude flywheel is also a little lighter too, I think.

ok. Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll wait till the clutch I have burns out then get the h23 tranny with a new clutch.
